Catback exhaust

i am searching for a cat back exhaust for my 2018 raptor. I'm looking for the best bang for your buck as well as improving sound and performance. Looking at a Gibson cat back. Anyone got any experience with one? Thanks

There is literally nothing that qualifies as best bang for buck where exhaust is concerned. You can't improve the sound objectively. You can only change the sound subjectively and because it's your ears only you can decide. There isn't a much bigger waste of money than trying to make the ecoboost sound good. Best you can hope for is making it sound different to your ears. Your money your call but it's like asking what color is best. It's personal preference. So far I haven't heard a single one that sounds better than stock and I've heard three different ones including the borla in person.

Magnaflow is what I'm doing. Found one video on the tube of a raptor with dual 4" round 14" magnaflows in place of stock muffler with stock resonator. Sounded GREAT! Kinda like a lovechild of the 2fg and 0fg/1fg.

Only going be 190 dollars in so if it sucks I can pull it. But going give em a try. If I want louder ill pull the suitcase resonator and have a couple vibrant ultra quiet resonators welded on. Or possibly add xpipe and flo pro resonators. Time wil tell.

Ive heard so many different opinions about the borla atak. How can one exhaust have so many varying opinions?

Different ears, expectations, noise tolerance, age, etc. Exhaust sound is like flavors. What some love, others will hate.

I will say the borla atak can be customized to many sound preferences!

The stock system is a bit raspy on acceleration for me, but you can replace x pipe with resonators to deepen and clean it up. You can also leave the x pipe and remove one of the mufflers to make it deeper but keep it extreme and loud. Or add resonators after the xipe while keeping both mufflers or just one..... many options to create whichever sound u prefer. It just depends on if your willing to spend the $$$ to get there. There are videos on YouTube of many of the options I mentioned above.

If you’re patient then you’ll find What you want Used in the classifieds, or an online deal as many of these exhausts have great sales a few times a year...Black Friday, tax sales, likely 4th of July sales or Labor Day etc... I was torn between the Corsa sport/extreme and AWE 0fg. Found the AWE 0fg for $1k Last month on AmericaTrucks.com. Sale was only on for a weekend. Point being...there are plenty of deals if you don’t have to have it right now.

Exhaust note is very personal. I listened to a bunch of clips and a few “live” of raptors with a variety of exhausts. I chose the Borla ATAK which I absolutely love. It’s my favorite mod. Big proponents of others here so you just need to listen to as many as you can though be aware that some audio clips are better than others. I’ll leave the best Borla clip I found done very well comparing stock to S-type and ATAK versions. I can’t say enough about how much I like the sound of my Raptor now and how well behaved it sounds when just cruising. But, others will have other opinions and this one is purely personal.
