I had a spun conrod bearing (#4) on my stock engine at 21k miles. Truck was never abused and had maintenance done meticulously. Never tuned or any aftermarket parts other than catback exhaust. Ford replaced short block under warranty and been running fine since (32k miles now).

Service manager at the dealer informed me that he had seen this same issue several times on ecoboost engines (not just the Raptor version). What I'm trying to say is, these engines seem to have some inherent problems with lubrication or assembly with respect to the rotating assembly.

Dealer is dropping oil pan to inspect, cost to do that is $763.

As-is trade in 37k. I’d have to come up with a good chunk of money to pay the truck off.

Right now waiting for an update on actual problem before getting a second opinion.

Reman longblock from Ford (if you can get one), new turbos, intercooler, oil lines, oil coolers, etc, all installed by a independent garage, then sell it. That is you cheapest way out if you want out and can;t fix it yourself.

Looked into that option, quoted 11k (without intercooler, probably just blow it out with compressed air)... I might as well have the dealer do it for 13k.

Go to another dealer. That’s ********.

It's not ********. This situation would be ******** if the engine/tune was stock and they declined the claim since he's within factory warranty. The OP is an honest person (unlike most people these days) and therefore this turned into a Customer Pay repair. This is a risk we all take as owners when we start to modify our trucks although I hate it for the OP. Luckily, it sounds like he's in a financial position where he can take care of the repairs and move forward with life.

Thank you, but after buying the Bullitt... I wouldn't say I have cash burning a hole in my pocket.

I'm not blaming anyone but myself for my current situation.

Sorry to hear about your truck. I vote Roush Lariat since you're not offroad frequently. After riding in a roush charged 5.0 F150 SCREW (not the roush version with the lift and fender flares) I was blown away. They are super quick. Almost too quick for a truck. Probably quicker than the bullit
