I don't recall the regular CF hood vent being supplied with 3m tape. And I didn't bother to use any. The screws are more than enough to hold it on.

Ok might be my memory failing me. I know the video of removal had you pull off the oem tape. I thought someone mentioned that some of the replacement ones had the new tape pre-installed.

Yep, the video did show removal of the old tape, which was a royal PIA. It's held on with I think 4 screws. I saw no need to do the tape. I can't imagine it coming off. In fact, unfortunately, when I trade mine in, it will have the cf hood and side vents as I'm too lazy to remove them and also afraid of breaking something. Just not worth the hassle. It's the first time I've actually "bothered" to remove the tonneau cover and pocket lights.
