I agree with the sentiment. I wouldn’t wait either. But now you know to ask the dealer if they have an allocation before you order. And msrp minus a k sounds high for a TRX. I’d just drive the gen one. Tech is so over rated.
Agree with the over rated tech. I like having a real key, and even on my Gen 1 I get pissed at the stupid screen when I don’t touch it just right and it opens something I don’t want.

Auto start is the only thing I would really miss. And I am a so called “millennial” btw. A geriatric one at that! :p

Yeah, the era of limited run ‘Cobra R’ models has past in this context. There is actually competition for the Raptor now and everyone who isn’t objectively looking at the two trucks is ragging on the TRX for being fast, but not handling well, but the recently posted comparison here didn’t show the TRX to be that weak, and in fact it may not handle as well as the Raptor, but then again, the Raptor isn’t as quick or fast.

The 2 trucks are not that radically apart from one another. So, Ford could

build limited run, streetable off road, s/c v8 powered F150 based Raptor, MSRP of low 6 figures. IMO this would be a sales and marketing fail. TRX is less expensive and, they’re not going to sit on their laurels waiting to be one upped by Ford.

Build a really limited run- less than 1000 units truck there’s no way the TRX can match. MRSP 130-150k. They would sell, but they wouldn’t get the market share from the TRX.

Shoehorn the 5.2 SC into the existing Raptor changing only what needs changing - priced even with the TRX, to no more than 5k over. This would retain market share from Raptor loyalists and poach TRX customers away who used to be Raptor loyalists.

Ford has a ‘slow moving’ target here. The TRX is out there and Ford already has most of the platform readily available to them. The question is how much these potential sales mean to them.

Bragging rights don’t pay bills, truck sales do.

After waiting as patiently as possible for 8 months, I made the decision today to cancel my order. As much as I am very displeased with Ford at this point, My Gen1 is still in immaculate condition and has plenty of life left. I will be keeping her until I'm ready to give Dodge my business and order my TRX. Good luck to all still waiting for build dates/delivery. RIP Order #5666:(

Not sure where you’re located but they are many on lots around Atlanta , GA all low option 801s I have both trucks I can tell you completely different my gen 2 802a is a luxury Baja truck the TRX is a muscle car with a decent suspension drive completely diff for off-road I’d take the gen 2 TRX rides like a platinum

Ford would be suicidally stupid to build a one off, limited run truck, because Dodge put out a mass produced, one up machine on the Raptor and there’s no denying it. This, and numerous other threads on here illustrate this quite clearly. Are there die hards? yes, some will only buy the Raptor.
But, Ford doesn’t seem to be listening here.

If they really want legions of loyal Raptor owners to jump ship to another marque, and basically doom the model, go ahead and produce the one off, super limited model that will go to a select few who will turn them into garage queens or resell them on the secondary market.

Unfortunately the V8 engine war is essentially over. It’s actually just a short lived battle the next one to two years between ram and ford for bragging rights. If ram brought the trx out in 2017 it would of had a much better chance at converting ford guys to ram guys. I really don’t think Ford will be losing much market share. When ram goes turbo v6 , the v8 loyalists aren’t following just because the ram brand gave them the most recent v8. So no a limited run raptor r will not doom the raptor; even if it never goes into production I really don’t see a significant percentage of raptor buyers flocking to ram with a year left of the hellcat. The small percentage of raptor loyalists already went to the trx for the v8. It’s short lived. The enthusiasts on this forum are an overall small percentage of the buyers of these trucks. Unfortunately ford ram Toyota GM etc are focused on the next era of trucks whether we like it or not.

Question I have a Dealer that said I could jump on an order he has and showed me the details. '22 with 35's and most options I want. Order is Priority 1 for stock. How are the priorities handled with FORD. Does this Priority 1 get pushed to the front of the line and I should jump on it, if I want it?

I'm new to the ordering thing so I appreciate your help and I wouldn't buy another RAM again, emissions, brakes warping and it would just stop running at red lights due to emissions issues. Only Kept it for two years.

Here’s a random question. I’ve seen so many order codes that are only numerical. Mine is “M100”, and was placed on October 26th. Is there a reason I can’t seem to find anyone else with a letter in theirs?

Raptor R WILL def be $150k+/- after ADM. (at least per the 3 dealers I spoke with around Austin, TX)
All three said they expect to only get 1-2 units and have a wait list of Buyers that will create insane bidding war. If the Shelby Raptor with a tuned V6 is getting $120-130k, the R w/ V8 should be well over. :(

Still waiting on my 2022 37 package. Order placed 10.11.21 and hope to see her in the coming months!
My order is for a 35 placed Oct 26th and I’m still waiting. Auto SS and spray liner removed, still waiting, with an allocated order.

The Raptor is not Ford's bread and butter as we would like to believe. Their efforts are most likely more geared toward the lightning and bronco at this point. The R will be limited if even produced at all.
