Hard to say but I'd put a pretty sizable bet it was a knob otherwise one would tap into the switches overhead. Couple comments here are pretty good but radar detector, sound boost, or engine management control would be all my guesses.

That's my guess as well, probably the only thing he wanted to carry over to the BMW. That cutout looks like it's about the size of a display for a $4k Radenso radar detector.

...but seriously, it could have been something that has more control then on/off. It also could be that who need the install for his lights and such was a moron that didn't realize the Raptor already had aux switches.
