Interesting question as I’m at 52500 trouble free miles on a late 19 built “2020”. Most of which with start/stop disabled via switch. Did I miss someone posing start/stop was a possible culprit to the cam phaser fiasco?

Couldn’t see how it would be depending on whether they drained of oil quickly and were constantly or repeatedly being deprived of oil on startup. But that should tell you I have no idea how they actually work. I obviously understand what they do, just never looked into “how”.
