California ESP - Extended warranty

Zeigler had given me a number (877-794-6434) to contact Ford directly for ESP since they were not able to sell it to me. Below are the quotes I obtained from them yesterday. The years are from date of purchase of the vehicle.

7 year $100 deductible- 85,000k miles - $2995
8 year $100 deductible– 100,000k miles - $3330

I got the same quote, also called 877-794-6434.

I reached out to a few dealers, and ESP sales are handled by their finance departments. Never got a call back.

So overall, because we’re in Cali, we have to pay twice as much as everyone else!

Went into Capo ford this morning, got the truck inspected and everything ironed out to purchase once my current ESP expires. This was their "cost" passed along to me.

3yr/36K - $2225
4yr/48K - $2660
5yr/48K - $2885
4yr/60K - $3030

That was all that they could offer to put on my 2017 given its at 71K miles now. The numbers above are additional years/miles of coverage. I'm going with the 4yr/48K miles that should cover me until the truck is 10 years old and by that time I will looking to get into something new. Good luck to everyone in CA!

Have you compared the prices to other dealers? I missed the cutoff for Ziegler so I need to purchase ESP for my work f150 powerboost

No I didn't shop it around because of my situation. Those prices are their "cost" and are lower than anything else I have seen. Their finance department quoted me higher prices which I posted earlier in this thread.

Do you have a contact person to see maybe if i can get that same deal? Did you purchase any of the other ESP stuff like keys, lighting etc? I know price also varies by the deductible

I bought my truck out of state so that wouldn't work.

I bought my truck in PA and registered in CA

Unless they worked on your truck and had to cover the cost for a new engine you wont be getting the same deal. I posted it for others so they know what their "cost" is. Good luck in your search

That CA law is criminal and BS. I live in PA just got an 8yr, 100k, $100 deductible from Granger on my 2023 for $1,840 (with first day rental, LED lighting, and key replacement adds). No way should you have to pay 81% more for no good reason other than the industry lobbyists paid off CA legislators. But I forgot, they claim they are doing it to "protect" buyers lol. Buyers need to be protected from these type of laws.
