Question for people that purchased out of state and registered here in CA; when you paid the sales tax, what did DMV or AAA check to verify how much you paid fo the truck? I've registered used cars with AAA and I just state what I paid then write a check.

Well, if you did NOT pay the taxes through the dealer, then the DMV needs to look at your SALES CONTRACT and will use the Sales Price including all the options.

(Note: You can't register a non-CA truck at AAA since it needs to be "inspected" by a DMV agent)

Thanks to all of you for helping with this process!

Speaking of credit unions, which one(s) are best for vehicle financing here in SoCal? Anyone? Bueller?

Only part you care about is this;

Check the Label
To find out whether a car, truck, or motorcycle is California certified, check the emission label under the hood. For a motorcycle, check the frame or refer to your owner' s manual for the location. The label should read that the vehicle conforms to California regulations, or that it is legal for sale in California.

You wont have any trouble registering any 2017 or newer F150 Raptor!
All are CA Certified!

Big thanks to you SOAKINRED for all your help and support!

2017 Purchased Out of State & Registerd in CA

Thanks to this forum I saved thousands of dollars purchasing a new 2017 Raptor in a state other than my home State of California. Yes all new Raptor's in the USA have the California Emission sticker.

My purchase process was 90% online and 10% via telephone - never went to the dealership for purchase:
-Contacted dozens of dealerships online and created a spreadsheet to track MSRP mark up prices; CA and WA had the highest mark up prices.
-By the 2nd month of contacting dealerships online; dealerships from Livonia, MI and Waukesha, WI had the best prices on the Raptor I was looking for (802a Super Cab). Both dealerships were great to communicate with online and were offering 25k less for same Raptor for sale 20 miles from my home.
-On day 2 of emailing these dealerships I agreed to purchase in Waukesha; price was great; the truck had all the options I wanted; great customer service.
-The purchase paperwork was sent to me overnight to have signed with a local notary - then overnight mailed back.
-My bank transferred the purchase funds directly to the dealership.
-Within 72hrs of agreeing to the purchase via phone the Raptor was loaded on a transport truck and was shipped to me (I didn't have the time to drive it home and the shipping company was cheaper than what it would have cost me to drive it to CA).
-The Raptor arrived at my front door within 3 days.
-In 1 day it was registered in CA: a local smog tester conducted inspection; had it weighed at by a local shipping company (both done within 1hr). Then I sat in the slow DMV for 3hrs getting it registered. Opened the hood and the emissions sticker was inspected (for about 10 seconds), paid the vehicle tax (WI did not charge tax) and transferred my current plates to my new Raptor.

It was a very simple process mostly done online.

Already introduced my Raptor to the Mojave Desert and the Vegas strip for a few days - best drive ever.

NOT A DAMN THING!!!!!!

In fact, the friggin' EMISSIONS STICKER is the SAME!!!! I know, I have the non-CA truck and have actually photographed it's sticker AND the CA sticker...and they identical...word for word!!! I'll even post a picture of both versions. The sticker on the Avi Gray (left) is the CA model, and the Blue is mine...a "non-CA" model (right).

I currently have a lead on a car, but the photo of the emission sticker I received is slightly different than the ones you posted.
U.S. EPA is IT3B110 LDT4 instead of T2B5 LDT4
EVAP: JFMXR0260NDG vs HFMXR0235NBC

Any thoughts on this?
Going to visit a California Ford dealer and check under their +$20k hood tomorrow haha.
