Correct. No flushes, just pan drop, filter replacement, refill.I believe Ford states NOT to flush the transmission on a Raptor.

Took it to dealer and mentioned the issue that perhaps they might’ve overfilled it but service advisor replied saying they do hundred of these every week and it’s by machine or computer so it couldn’t be possible etc. Still didn’t take her in to diagnose that 7 to 8th gear situation (rpm’s go up and then down when going to 8th) since they still want me to think about getting the ESP. Now I’m wondering if I should, or just get that transmission issue fixed at a local reputable transmission specialist. Appreciate all the advice btw, I feel in good hands hahaCorrect. “Hundreds a week” sounds highly exaggerated; most dealers don’t see 100 cars a week in the service department regardless of what maintenance or repairs are being performed. It sounds like an excuse for them to get out of actually checking the fluid level, which is critical on these transmissions any time they’re opened up. If they dropped the pan, there is no way the machine can calculate to exact amount to put back in, because the amount of fluid drained varies based on a number of factors.Took it to dealer and mentioned the issue that perhaps they might’ve overfilled it but service advisor replied saying they do hundred of these every week and it’s by machine or computer so it couldn’t be possible etc. Still didn’t take her in to diagnose that 7 to 8th gear situation (rpm’s go up and then down when going to 8th) since they still want me to think about getting the ESP. Unfortunately I don’t think they opened it up, they only flushed it bc I was advised that was better than actually dropping the pan and changing filter/oil. “Hundreds a week” sounds highly exaggerated; most dealers don’t see 100 cars a week in the service department regardless of what maintenance or repairs are being performed. I would reiterate the fact that the transmission fluid on 10R80 cannot be checked without a scan tool to verify transmission fluid temperature. The least they can do is check and adjust the fluid lev as necessary before going any further.
I got this one with 41k miles and has been driving smooth up until this issue with the 8th gear which is my real concern, the leak I’m sure won’t be as costly as the repair it might need. I’m not sure if maybe i just need to reset the adaptive transmission, on sport mode it seems to do it less. 6500 is pretty steep for ESP, I’m leaning more towards your way of thinking too and take it to a transmission specialistI'm in the same situation when it comes to looking at ESP on my 2018 with 84k miles. I haven't noticed anything wrong with it so far, and it looks like the only prior owner has taken extremely good care of it. Though I know you're rolling the dice when buying a higher mileage vehicle. If it were a Toyota, I'd not even second guess skipping the ESP.
My thoughts here are that I can leave the money i'd use to buy the ESP in the bank and have it available should anything be needed. Though I'm sure one significant issue and that money would be gone. I've looked at Zeigler Ford's service plan, which gives me a lot more comfort than these 3rd party plans. They seem to have the best prices too.
Link here if anyone is curious
You may want to show them this tech video from Ford/Motorcraft. It specifically states transmissions shouldn’t be flushed. I’d put the issue right back on the dealer; it was fine before they touched it.Unfortunately I don’t think they opened it up, they only flushed it bc I was advised that was better than actually dropping the pan and changing filter/oil.
Have you checked Ziegler? For a 2 year 24k mile warranty, I’m looking at $1800ish. They have a lot of different options.I got this one with 41k miles and has been driving smooth up until this issue with the 8th gear which is my real concern, the leak I’m sure won’t be as costly as the repair it might need.
