Accident / Bad News / Good News:

I just had my Raptor for a few months now, simply love it...each week, adding more and more to this beauty. Previously owned a Honda Civic Hybrid, quite a difference.

Today I had a minor accident. I didn't stop in time at a green light when the car in front stopped suddenly, crash. I felt horrible. Especially since I also had it hand washed and waxed earlier today. I expected the worse when I got out of the truck. The gentleman I hit was congenial, and we shared insurance, etc.

Surprisingly, the damage was limited to each of our bumpers. The plastic and some metal was bent on my precious, but missed higher metal by a fraction of an inch. Only the bumper needs to be replaced.

A slight tangent here, but on my to-do list was to include fog lights and possibly a winch. I was not happy with the currently selection of fog lights out there, and had contemplated a winch for only a future install.

So some good news. My insurance company will allow an estimate on the damage, and at my request, will issue a check to cover the cost. Albeit, I may face a future increase in my insurance premium. BTW, first accident in about 25 years. However, the opportunity to buy an improved bumper, with different fog lights and winch is now very available.

So my friends, I'd like to request some advice on choices. There are several replacement front bumpers out there. Some are conservative, and others are extreme off-road. I prefer conservative that blend into the design, but perhaps include increased skid plate with nice LED lights, winch is optional but desired. I've seen a few I like, but the reviews are old.

Please let me know if you suggest any current designs. I prefer steel over aluminum/plastic and price is minor considering this is the only vehicle I want to own.

Thank you Joe

I really like my Saints Offroad bumper. U can mount 40" light bar and then u have a few options to mount lights in the outer sections. I had my powder coated to match the fender flares and rear bumper.what I like about it is its somewhat low profile but still offers decent protection unlike some of the more trophy truck looking ones. It gives u plenty of light mount options for so u have lots of light. Also it gives u a better approach angle. It also has cutouts in the skid for air flow just like the stock bumper did. Now I dont know if that air flow is necessary BUT the stock one had it so I assume its good to keep that air flowing. Any extra air to cool our power steering system is a plus. Check my build thread for better pics but here is a couple I have on my phone

@Chris@FreedomMotorsports also has this bumper. It looks great. Chris also sells them.

Thank you for the recommendations. The Race Series R seems perfect.

And thanks to Yukon Joe, yes thank god everyone including the little girl in a car seat was not hurt. The bumper absorbed the shock and performed admirably. Well designed by Ford, but expensive to replace.

If you want a clean and more "conservative" look (if you can even consider any aftermarket bumper for the raptor conservative) that blends perfectly with factory lines, with fit and finish to match, then check out the SVC Baja front bumper.

This bumper will add virtually zero length to your truck, if you include the Oem bumper's "bumperettes".

We can customize the light tabs for whatever light setup you would like, including adding some Fog lights in the outer sections.

Pictures are of my personal truck with the carbon fiber skid plate option, and 30" TMX Blackhawk lightbar.

If you have any questions, please feel free to shoot me a pm, I would be glad to help.

@HAYNES OFFROAD i am really having a difficult time figuring out the durability of a carbon fibre skid plate. Is it the same C/F used on exotic sports cars or am i missing something? I know that it is very strong material but how does it hold up to nose dives and what not? Thanks!

SVC

Just got my SVC mounted up with a radius 30" and side mounted pods for cornering. I know it's not a raptor but I'll be converted soon
