Not near as hard as the Barstow/Vegas outing. Would if I could, it looked like a hoot and a half! More likely I would have a heavily loaded bed and hit a pothole too fast.

Do you know if the rear spacer blocks are interchageable from side to side? I would like to put the shelf below the bump-stop outboard.

They are angled front to back for pinion angle. Larger in back smaller in front. If your swapping them side to side but also flipping them out, you should be ok.

Thinking it would be easier/faster, for me, to remove the spacer block shelves with a sawzall. The shelves only serve to keep the axle from hitting the bump stop, don't they?

Yep exactly... But, you really dont want the stop hitting the axle... Well thinking about this... A bent frame or a broken axle... hmm... Guess the axle is cheaper to fix than that frame... How about modifying the pinion angle plate... have a piece welded about an inch from the top of the axle so it would give you more travel and not hit the axle...

What about sawing a notch across the top of the spring block shelf at the 90 degree angle? Enough for the casting to breakaway if the rear bottoms-out hard.

Ya I guess but, I thought the idea here is to absorb the blow. It you cut that it will only work once... if it breaks off then you lost it and next hit will be on the axle...
How about replacing the foam jounce on the frame with a spring? Or mount a hydraulic bump stop in place of the foam jounce...

I'm not going to weaken the block shelves, for now. Maybe there will be an aftermarket set of blocks with lower shelves.
