DOT 5.1 is compatible with DOT 3/4 but has a higher wet and dry boiling point.
DOT 5.1 should not be confused DOT 5 which is silicon based and is not compatible with DOT 3/4/5.1.

I am no brake expert, so you are saying I have to stick with DOT 4 even if I upgrade the pads/rotors?

What is DOT5.1 vs DOT 4? Doesn't the 5.1 have a higher boiling temp? Theoretically making 5.1 better if you're cooking brakes on say...

When was the last time you changed fluid? I haven't seen super blue in at least a decade. The point was to swap back and forth between gold and blue after every track day so you could tell when to quit bleeding. After a quick google it looks like DOT made it illegal in the US in 2013; all fluid is required to be amber/colorless.

Yes, Superblue was banned in NA.
