I’m going to be installing a Borla S type exhaust on my 2018 raptor. I’m only buying the mid-section part of the exhaust and not the tail pipe kit with it. It just seem to expensive to add the tail pipe kit with it. I was wonder if the exhaust will still sound good with the stock tail pipe and Borla mid-section exhaust?

Only you can answer that question. Some people would argue the 2018 exhaust sounds bad to start with, others would argue the Borla full cat back sounds bad.

Tailpipes do matter, material, diameter, even the tips.

You will still get 95% of the same sound with just the "muffler" though.

I have some Borla stinger mufflers on a V8 with factory cats, and they are plenty rowdy.

It doesn’t seem worth paying another thousand dollars for the tail pipes and I think the stock tail pipes look good. Let’s hope it sounds good

Are you keeping the stock resonator are using the borla xpipe?
I wasn't happy with the sound until I added the borla resonator (and let it break in, was very quiet initially).
Love the sound now, though I probably would've kept stock setup had my muffler not had loose baffles that sounded like ass.
I kept the stock tailpipes.

I don’t know if I’m keeping the stock resonator or the Borla x pipe lol. I went to my local auto shop that does aftermarket exhaust and they were going to order and install the Borla s type Mid-Section Exhaust System. Does that come with the Borla resonator?
