It'll probably look better than factory since it's actually getting painted, not dipped in paint baths

Actually I prefer the paint baths myself. The base, pearl and clear cover the entire truck evenly. If you want to see "unevenness", take a look at your front fenders where it flares out from the side of the headlight and look up. That's what hand painting gets ya. Mines very thin and I can see the primer base. I'd shoot my truck molten orange if I get the chance.

Why are they making special brackets for the boatechs? Are they sub-par? Did the liners come line-x'd? Did you look into any other liners?

Well see how it turns out paint wise. They spent 7 hours just painting the cab yesterday. It looked pretty good in the sun. I bought the fenders and liners from ADD. The liners are just thick carbon fiber. They have to be line x'd for protection and stregnth. The shiny line x should clean off easy. As far as the brackets go its for strength as well. If you dont your fenders will be rattling all over the place. They are not bolt on ready out of the box. Im pretty handy, and after seeing the install I would not attemptit. And would recommend having a shop do it. Quality was ok on the fenders, not really. I must have got a bad pair though. Ill post some pictures. I dont want to bash Boatec. It took the body shop 7 hours to get them in a somewhat paintable state. Just withThere were gouges all over them. Epoxy was just smeared in random spots. It had a crack on the flare. Boatec is so backed up ADD RECOMMENDED just having the shop fix them and getting reimbursed. Rather than waiting 2 months for another set. The body shop guarantees there work. If it cracks again theyll fix it for free. Boatec is going to reimburse me for the 7 hours of body work. The fenders had blemishes everywhere. These are just a few pics of them

Eww. Those look pretty nasty. Might have been a Friday product. That's badass that Boatec will back you for the labor.

You can see the brackets in the pictures on the first page. They look like there just part of the carbon fiber because there primed grey. If you have watched a guy doing a fiberworx glass install on you tube. Its like that but it looks like a stock piece of the truck. The brackets they made are where the door meets the fender. They also reused the stock headlight brackets and had to drill some extra holes in them. I havent sent the invoice for the labor to ADD yet , but im glad we could come to a resolution. Those were probably the worst quality aftermarket fiberglass I have ever seen. I race superbikes, and am always getting new glass fairings. So I know quality a qualityproduct off the shelf. And these were not. Maybe it was a bad day at the shop when they were made?

The fenders and grill are painted. Parts are getting buffed out right now. I wish I was getting buffed out! Here is a pic. Grill is the same color as flares. Satin black

With all the prep the fenders needed would you have gone with a different brand if you would have known? I used to do a ton of track days so I know the frustrations of shotty fiberglass , I built a couple track bikes and all the prep to paint drives me nuts. I'm getting ready to purchase front fenders and I might look at another brand now. I always painted my track bikes the factory colors heres one kinda like your truck color. Good luck with the rest of the build.
