Almost two years ago I purchased this truck and have since done some little things here and there. I thought now would be a good time to say hi, share some of the evolution, and give an honest opinion on some of the parts.

I have primarily been a sports car guy up until this point. Previous cars include 1990 Miata, 2000 Trans Am, 1999 SVT Lightning, 2014 Focus ST, 2014 Evo X, and a 2003 C5 z06.

I decided to trade in the Corvette for this Raptor. Unfortunately on the way to the dealership, I hydroplaned and wrecked. This was a bitter sweet day for me. I loved the Raptor and was excited to have it, but had to deal with insurance and diminished value on the C5.

Here is the truck though. It's a 2013 with 60k miles. One owner, pretty clean and came with a Decked storage system as the only modification. More on that later. Paid $39.9k for it. fb35.jpeg
From here I dabbled in lighting. I found these Rough Country curved LED bars that had blacked out lenses that looked pretty slick behind the grille. I also mounted a 12Klbs smittybuilt winch behind the bumper with an ICI mount. Very pleased with all of these items:

Then, I added a Circle D 265mm 26-2800 stall converter. I work sales there, so it was just a no brainer. This improved acceleration slightly and still lets me tow my boat around. Full disclosure, these do have a bit of noise to them in park/neutral, but it quiets up in drive or reverse. Just giving my honest review. Expect trans temps to rise about 5 degrees as well.572307756.jpg

Then I found a deal on a ProCharger supercharger. It was used and needed to have the head unit rebuilt, but the complete kit with injectors, tune and even instructions was just $1500. I forget the gentleman's name from whom I bought it, but he was very nice and seemed like he just wanted someone to enjoy it. It turned out that the pulley had just come loose on the shaft. I bought a new pulley, bolt and key kit and was in business. This made 453 whp with no additional mods. I know these kits have a bad rep here, but I have used a D1SC on my LS1 F-body for years with great results too. I had it dyno tuned and this improved the drivability over the base Procharger tune, so I highly recommend this. Oh, also went one step colder on the spark plugs to be safe. IMG_1133.jpg
To get the intercooler to fit with the winch, I had to modify the intercooler bracket and piping as well as relocate the horns and take off both light bars. I painted all of the associated supercharger parts wrinkle black and upgraded the standard worm clamps with t-bolt units. Not that I'm in any danger of blowing pipes off at standard boost levels, but just habit from my horsepower making days. You can also see the Saudi trans cooler hanging out behind the intercooler. This brought my trans temps back to stock levels.

So now that the truck could power through yellow lights safely, I found I had pretty bad wheel hop. I wasn't keen on spending 1K+ on leaf springs to fix this, so I landed on what I call my "old man mod" Roadmaster Active Suspension. Since most of my driving is on-road and I tow the boat frequently, I decided to give these a try. They lift the rear of the truck about 3/4" so I did the mid perch in the front to match. They reduce squat when towing, and I don't notice any difference in ride quality on or off road. Wheelhop is reduced, but not gone on a harsh 3-1 downshift. I'm pleased612484047.jpg
Moving on to the Decked storage system. This thing has been awesome for the most part. My fat 250lb self did step on the wrong spot and break some of the support ribbing underneath. It's still useable, but I don't put heavy things on there now without some sort of plywood to spread the weight. I keep tools, recovery gear, first aid, etc in here totally dry and safe from the elements. Never once leaked. The locks are cheesy though and can be easily broken. I keep my tailgate locked at all times.612484644.jpg 612484661.jpg

Most recently I added an arma15 rifle mount for when I head to the ranch. This locks with a directional lock and allows for quick access to some firepower. I broke the hell out of the grocery bag holders trying to get them off and have these on order from Ford. They are not cheap FYI LOL. If you buy one , mount the plate steel just a little bit lower than I did. My front sight post almost interferes enough with the latch to cause problems. 611461140.jpg 611461163.jpg

So that's where we currently are. My truck now has 76,000 miles and has been reliable (minus one power steering pump, and one factory battery that I replaced with an Odyssey brand). This forum has been a big help so thank you to all who contribute. Future plans include smaller blower pulley and headers to see if we can crack 500+whp, so stay tuned!
