GEN 1 Black out Beauty Rings?

I want to black out my rings but I don't want to permanently power coat them incase I want to go back to original look some day. Has anyone plasti dipped or wrapped them? If so, how do they hold up?

Other option would be to buy a 2nd set and power coat them but I can't find the originals anywhere for sale.

I use anthracite plasti dip because it lasts, it matches the wheel arches and when I smash them on a rock I bring them home, hammer flat and respray. That has happened twice.
