Funny, my wife got me a tailgate pad thing for bikes or whatever else you wanna throw in over the side held in place that way (strollers comes to mind lol) after I saw a few trucks rocking em in UT when I was out there for Raptor assault actually.

Either I’m underestimating how often you are using your bikes or I’m missing exactly it is that you’re concerned about towing/having hitch available, but it’s almost like you should just pull a light utility trailer behind ya & call it a day lol!!

A lot of times that’s what I wind up doing myself esp since the Raptor basically doesn’t like having a lot of weight in the bed or on the hitch to begin with. Utility trailers w/ a drop ramp for easy loading are super useful in my truck experience….& while def pricey I’ve seen some really nice ones w/ some actual suspension articulation for real offroad/overlanding use, that’d probably be best of all worlds

Looking for a flush mount bike mount of some kind to my hard folding bed cover. Can I just mount the Fork Mount to the bed cover? I Need the inside of the bed for gear.

Which bed cover do you have? Are their T-slot channels for accessories, like the Retrax XR models

I purchased one of those ratching cargo bars and attached some fork mounts to it. Works pretty well and affords me some flexibility.

I'll have to get an updated pic with my new bike but I have been running a North Shore rack for 7-8 years now. Still really like it and would buy another one if anything ever happened to it.

That pic was taken during test fit. When my cover is off the tailgate closes, or use a bed extender if the cover is on.

I use the rockymounts rack. It secures the bikes well, is easy to use, and is out of the way when not in use. I also had it in my old f150 with a 6.5' bed. They also offer clamshell axle mounts which are a bit pricey but they're lockable.

I need to revive this thread.

I picked up my truck a week ago and moved my Rockymount rack from my 2019 over to 2023. Perfect fit. I REALLY like this rack, but......it doesnt leave me much space in the bed when my kids and I take the bikes on road trips. For short trips around town, it's great however.

I purchased the Bakflip X4S tonneau cover before I even picked the truck up since I liked the design/flush look of it more than anything else. The downside to this move is that I wasn't thinking far enough ahead in that I should really probably go the crossbar route with bike mounts since I could also then benefit from putting our ski box up there in the winter for those weekend trips. That may have lead me down a different road for a tonneau cover, but maybe not if the "Elevate TS Rails" I bought today work as my chat with Realtruck says they will. that should give me the tracks I need for any crossbar.

Is there a crossbar setup that is quick to attach/detatch that hasn't been discussed here? I like the yakima stuff in the first few posts, but how easy is it to remove and setup? Realtruck recommends a Thule system (becuase they sell it I assume), but I'd like more opinions even though they have been great so far. My cover will be useless as far as rolling it up goes with low bars above it, so I'd like whatever I buy to be easy to deal with when I want it out of the way.

Not interested in tailgate pads with carbon frame bikes, and also uninterested in tow hitch mounts even though I am sure they are convenient and easy. Really want to kill a few birds with one stone with crossbars and bike racks that only grab the tires.
