I've been researching my next mod and am going to go with a triple light fog/spot setup in the front bumper.

Would appreciate if you could post some pics of yours and the configuration/brand used and where you purchased from and how satisfied you have been with them.

My dilema is this. I live in northern Ontario Canada and we get tons of snow and it's not unusual for temps to dip to -40 to -50 celsius with the wind.

I'm concerned how the bezel setup will hold up specifically the gasket that goes around the inner edge of the opening of the fog light location. Will it shrink/pull off, come loose etc.

Then the lights will start vibrating against the bumper and at those cold temperatures who knows what will happen.

The light setup for these bumpers especially if you go for a good quality setup is not cheap especially if you live in Canada and consider the 30% exchange rate on top of the US price ... Lol

I like the non bezel setup by really like the finished look of the bezel.

I just want to make sure I go with a good setup that works and look forward to hearing your comments and advice.

Thanks

I have the twin bezel so I can’t speak to the flex light but the optional lights mount behind the opening to the bezel so they won’t vibrate. You can push them up against the back opening of the bezel if you like, but that may limit your adjustment a bit. I have mine sitting just behind the bezel, which allowed me to fine tune the aiming.

The gasket is pressed against the bumper once mounted so it stays in place. It is rubber so it will certainly degrade over time but it should last a long time before it does. It is replaceable when the time comes.

I have Baja Designs Squadron Pros which I purchased from FRF vendor [email protected]

So I too am trying to figure out the bezel vs bracket decision... am also leaning towards the bezel but am curious if anyone cares to point out any obvious pluses or minuses to either?

Additionally... i know there are multiple bracket choices but I’m not seeing much variety on bezels... any particular recommendations on either?

Speeddeacon - i see one of your pics includes a lower light bar. Which one is that and how is it mounted? Looks like it is somehow set in the grill whereas many seem to put them behind it. Is there some bracket behind it as well?

Finally... I’m looking at 3 sets of lights for the cutout, a light bar below, and a pair of something low profile for the back. Looking at BD or Rigid or a combination... any recommendations for a dealer who will bundle up with some good pricing??

Sorry for all the questions... but clearly... this was a topic I’ve been looking for! [emoji51]

The bezel gives you a nice finished look, BUT it limits you as far as adjustments go. Plus if you do a 3 light bezel system you are locked into the smaller pair being KC lights, which you may or may not want. You'll also have a tough time replacing the lenses (Baja Designs) if you choose to change them, since the bezel sits up against the lights. If you need to aim them left/right you can't adjust them.

The benefit to the open design is you can control which way the lights point. Some folks use their fogs 100% offroad and want them aimed up. Some use 1 pair for nighttime use and have them aimed down. A bezeless/open design lets you point your lights where you want them.

So there are pros and cons to both. Baja Designs brackets are great and come as part of their kit. You can control the lights from 2 upfitters (3 if you add on the extra harness). You are limited to where the lights sits as they sit on the bracket in a locked location (you can still aim them up/down/left/right).

Now the SPP Brackets we offer are similar in design, only the lights sit in a channel so you can slide the lights back/sideways (on top of the left/right/up/down adjustments). So if you want the lights to sit outwards or inwards in the channel, you can move them. Also the entire bracket assembly itself can be moved up/down so you can center the lights (great if you have OCD). Also the SPP kit we offer includes a customer all-in-one wiring harness that lets you control all 3 pairs of lights from 3 different upfitters.

So again, pros and cons to each.

Bezel = finished look but your locked in for the most part
Open/Bracket Design = more control but not a finished look

All depends on what you want. some folks like a nice finished look. I personally love that open/agreesive look, as that's what the Raptors stance calls for. It's why the frame cut style bumpers are so popular also... more aggressive look.

We can hook you up with pretty much whatever you are looking for when it comes to lighting, just let me know or check out our site.
