Just looked at the Yakima HD. I have a Diamondback bed cover so can’t use those.
Sorry to wear out your thread. But if you wanted to go roof you can. I have a Yakima roof rack that I used on my gen 2 for years. Works great. Biggest issue I had was getting a kayak up there. I have a 14ft Hobie pro angler so it’s super heavy. With a buddy it’s very easy though. I’ve done it on my own going into the bed with the step and sliding it up that way.

I have your exact set up. Diamondback SE, I don’t use my four corner posts much any more because of my back surgeries. They are designed by Diamondback for their tops. If your interestEd pm me, they are out in the shed along with their Deep Toolbox. Ended up with a CargoGlide again.
If you don’t want the Posts and Crossmembers I just lay them on the lid, ratchet strap them down with the Yakima-Long Arm Bed Extender. Works perfect, don’t have to lift them nearly as high. One of my Yaks is 16’
NOTE- I bought 4 Extra Cleats for the lid from DB. Gives me endless Tie-Down optionsB42DA2A1-A5B6-4375-A50A-88F75E1481C0.jpegC2E2A41F-2E96-425A-89D5-9C54C3A4A534.jpegC00DE368-5E89-4103-B562-FD7FFC8A64BD.jpeg6E106B6E-E107-4414-A315-57BEC34B4E42.jpegFE6A2D52-C1FA-41FB-9B26-3F5FC4149D17.jpeg
