well I thought daily driving was going to work taking your kids to school ext, I don't hall stuff in my truck just because It wasts gas if you want a truck for hauling you should buy a f350. I have know idea what you would have to hit to bottom out the shocks on the 2012 raptor I've had it in the air and it never hit a bump stop if you use some commonsense you'll be ok.

Well daily driving in New Orleans is considerably close to off-roading. So it'll take a decent littpe beaten on these roads daily

If you're worried about your daily drive beating the truck up (and it sounds like you are?) the best preventative measure you can take is adding a bump stop kit. There are a few options ranging from $100 to $1500. I went with the RPG myself, and couldn't be happier. But there are other options out there that folks are happy with too.

Out of the box, the Raptor will handle whatever your daily commute will throw at you. Trust us on that. But if you are concerned in any way that commute may damage your truck, you can completely solve that worry by dumping the jounce stops, and replacing them with an aftermarket bump stop kit. If I'm in your shoes, I add one for extra piece of mind and then forget about the issue for the life of the truck.

^^^That was my main concern. I'm not worried so much about 1 time messing my truck up, but driving everyday over crappy roads will eventually add up to something giving was my main reason for posting this thread. Ill probably opt for the RPG Stage 2 kit then for some peace of mind with the middle perch adjustment as well.

IMHO that's a really good call. Get that perch up to where the engineers tested it and meant it to be (the middle position), and add the bump stop kit to eliminate the one area 2ish years of experience has taught us to be aware of.

There's only one more precaution I would take if I'm you: at about 30k miles (6k before the warranty is up), I'd test my shocks. If you're truly going to be almost-off-roading it pretty much every day, you're going to stress those shocks. And those of us that have stressed them are sometimes finding we've blown one or two out. Some unlucky folks (me) didn't check until after the warranty was up, and get to fix it on our dime. Those who checked before got to have them fixed on Ford's dime.

So set yourself a reminder and check 'em out right before the warranty is up. Ya might just end up saving yourself a headache.

Sweet. I'll definitely take your advice on that. I won't be abusing the truck, it's just the condition of the roads down here will beat in a car gradually, that's why I'm getting rid of the shelby.

Sounds like we were in the same boat. I had a very purdy and fast street machine I dumped way to much money into, only to have it slowly deteriorate as I drove it daily. Now, when something happens I just say "Hey, its a truck" and all is right with the world. It feels like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders. You're gonna love it :)
