Strange that ate you that much oil, did you ever check it after you drove off the dealer lot?

I have yet to add oil between oil changes from day one.
And you would think being Supercharged the last 10,000 miles I would have too.
The first oil changes was with Ford Dealer Blend only because I did not have time to do it myself.
But I switched to Mobil 1 and now I'm using Mobile 1 Extended, which is recommended for Supercharged and High Heat running engines.
All 5W-20 of course.

Yes i did the first week that i drove the truck, but then after i forgot to do it frequently then i came across with the lack of 2 quarts of oil on my 5k miles on the truck.

I used to have a 2003 ford svt lightning, i used the 5w20 motorcraft syntetic. Whenever i checked the oil, the oil was like dripping water on the dip stick. As well needed to refill the 2.3 KB with supercharged oil most of the time, because of the heat.

So thats why i m worried about, my ford raptor with non normal oil consumption at its first 5k miles.

I will use the 5w20, in any case the truck needs oil will refill it.

Thanks

Do not use 0-50 oil!
Clearances in the engine are designed for 5-20 (0-20 would be better)
Using oil of a higher viscosity will dump some of it through the main relieve valve back to sump; starving components furthest from the pump and reduce internal engine cooling.
Note: 'Some' could be a large amount!

Use 5W-20. I have towed regularly in 120+F temps and run the truck down to -26F temps, all with 5W-20 oil, no problems.

You could have your oil tested at the next oil change and based on the results you will see if you need to change the oil more often because of the heat. But I would not change the weight of the oil as our cars use VCT and I am not sure on the 6.2L but know on the mustang modulars the newer motors they are sensitive to changing the oil weight. Another reason why ford went with 5w-20 has to do with fuel economy and emissions.

What country are you in?
I use Mobile or Havoline 0w-30 or 5-w30. I can never find 20 weight here. Whatever you do, do not use 40 or 50 weight. There is a big power loss.
