Penfed 1.49 for 60 can't beat that. I saw you can join if your a aaa member now. And if your dealer is a true car participant you can get .99 thru penfed I read.

I've always gone through PenFed which always has great rates. I called my local credit union and asked if they could match PenFed's rate which was 1.99% for 60 months a few weeks ago when I bought my Raptor. Local credit union said sure we will match it, but actually gave me 1.90% for 72 months and I couldn't refuse that rate/time so I jumped on it.
I got a email from PenFed the other day saying they lowered the rates to 1.49% for 60 months, but they still kept the 72 month rate at 3.49%.

yup. just got approved for 1.99%. had to open a $25 checking account to qualify, no big deal.

You guys are lucky, up here in Canada there is not a chance you can get an auto loan with that interest rate unless its the odd dealer 0% financing special.

I got 2.75% for 36m to 72m through work if I want it.
Dealer said they could beat that, but said it's not worth talking about till my truck gets here.
Credit Score is around 800-825 depending on which of the three you check.

I agree with those making the argument for paying cash. About eight years ago the wife and I decided to get debt free. It took a couple years, but we don't use credit for anything anymore. The only thing we make monthly payments on is our mortgage and utilities. If we need to make a big purchase we just save our money and pay cash.
I had a 2001 Tahoe on a 60 month note and when I paid it off we continued to make payments but into our savings account. After two years we had the money set aside for new truck. Bought a 2008 GMC with all the options and a 6 inch lift and I wrote a check for it.
We continue to make payments into the savings account and when I fell in love with the Raptor back in June I shopped for a few weeks then went to the dealership and traded in the GMC and wrote a check for $25,000 and drove home in the raptor.
So instead of buying something and making the payments for a few years we make payments for a few years and then buy something.
