The direct fit upgrades require nothing. A cooler thermostat may run the engine a little cooler, but basically has nothing to do much with cooling the intake charge.

In warmer weather an upgraded IC will let you make the power or keep it consistent. If you tune, it will help with the gains.

You do not need to change your thermostat, in fact I have not.

I've been running Mishimoto Intercooler for past 8 months no issues. Its exactly same quality as CVF which is also made in China. I actually prefer Mishimoto one because it has thick Rubber Gasket that runs all around Intercooler which seals opening that you have with CVF one after removing factory plastic shroud in order to fit Intercooler.

Same here- running Mishimoto for well over a year, no issues at all. Also like the gasket. No regrets.

If you're asking about the Mishimoto, it's a direct fit swap. No additional parts or cutting. Retains louvers and fans. Just have to remove the plastic shroud on the factory CAC.
