Oh, I'm sorry, I guess holding people up by going the speed limit is a horrible thing to do? Get over yourself. What you're wanting to do is far worse than me slowing down to THE LEGAL SPEED LIMIT. Instead, let's blind the **** out of them, that surely won't make them crash, LOL.

About 5 years ago I was riding my bike to work, a Ducati, very fast when it wasn’t being repaired. I was poking along in the left lane at 55. Speed limit was 35. I was passing other traffic and a guy rolls up on me in a beater.

If there’s one thing that I dislike as much as red light runners and left lane turtles, it’s tailgaters. I turn around to glare at him, but make no gestures or anything. I continue plodding along at 20mph over the limit, maybe a little quicker and get right as soon as I pass the last car in the line. They buzz by me at probably 80 - again, the speed limit here is 35 and even I reluctantly admit that 80 is a bit quick for this stretch. As luck would have it they get caught at the red light where I really hoped to mention his discourteous behavior.

He did not wait for the light, and hot footed a left turn.

Into the hospital emergency room.

I felt a little guilty, but glad I didn’t do any juvenile shit to him or his passenger.

You can crow all you want about doing the speed limit in the left lane - that you admit you purposely slow down for when you see someone exceeding your personal “threshold” for bad behavior.

That’s just a passive aggressive move you’re committing. So be honest with us, what’s your motivation for this? So you can enforce your street justice on the motoring public? Do you do the same thing in grocery lines at the grocery store, or is it just a thing when you’re surrounded by 2 - 3 tons of metal?

You never know the motivation of the person behind you trying to overtake. Maybe they’re impatient, unskilled, running behind and not being safe, or maybe they’re headed to the hospital because, baby delivery ? relative in an auto collision? just escaped an abduction? ( i know someone this happened to)

Take a hard look at your professed behavior here Jimbo. You just might be the guy headed to the hospital behind some passive aggressive road rager someday.

Yep. Have had a couple similar experiences. Bottom line, get the **** out of the left lane if you're not setting the pace. It's usually the law and even if it isn't it's just the right thing to do. Even if you think the person is going too fast for the conditions. Trust me, if they really are, you'll get a chance to explain it to them down the road. Sometimes even just a few short miles down the road when you find them on their roof. Ask me how I know ;)

PS - the first words out of the guy's mouth were "I don't know what happened... I had it in FOUR WHEEL DRIVE!"

So let's recap. Here are all the logical people who understand common sense:

Brake check is not safe or legal. Plus if you are doing 45mph you can not stay in the left lane, or the speed lane. I can see the frustration over this...

In Pennsylvania it is illegal to be in left lane unless passing another vehicle.

Massachusetts drivers take hogging the left lane to an art form

I understand OP's point of view. Two things on the road **** me off beyond belief. People in the left lane NOT passing, and people with improperly aimed headlights or leaving their brights on.

I don't care how entitled you feel to the left lane, it is for passing *only*. That is why there are signs on every highway I've been on: "Slower Traffic Keep Right"

I accepted the slow drivers in the left lane a long time ago... its because they are usually very busy eating the steering wheel.

You can crow all you want about doing the speed limit in the left lane - that you admit you purposely slow down for when you see someone exceeding your personal “threshold” for bad behavior.

I won't bother quoting the idiots who try and claim otherwise because they are fake news.

P.S: Smurf, what kind of Ducati? I race Ducatis/Aprilias in CCS, have 3-4 of them.

Oh look OP organized a list of all the responses that conveniently agreed with him. That's productive.

So you're not sure if you have 3 or 4? Most children can count to at least 10.

Let me help.

Is it this many?
