What are the best fitting fiberglass fenders? Looking for +2 fronts.

I wanted to go ADV but have heard under heat they expand and then rub at the door line.. not sure if that's normal but can anyone share their experiences?

I have adv. I’m not sure the physics of that concern are accurate. The fenders are hardened fiberglass are “non-conductive and fire resistant. The thermosetting resin used inherently has a low thermal expansioncoefficient and a broad useful temperature range.” Rubbing against the driver door would be due to poor install not from material expansion.

That's good info.. thank you. My buddy had them installed recently and has had this happen.. unfortunately an expensive fix with re-painting if they are truly defective. I have yet to see his in person, but will soon.

Unless the resin was mixed incorrectly, which I highly doubt, his fenders would have needed to be like 400*f for the resin to become Flexible. I would guess that the installer used a glue on the upper mount vs bolts or rivets and the upper portion moved in which would absolutely cause binding. Those metal brackets have to be either saved off the factory ones or new ones made. Again the gap between fender and door is no hair line gap. That fender moved. I’d say shy of carbon material all these companies use the same products, I cannot believe that they would get a resin mix ratio wrong and I’m 99.9% positive it’s impossible for fiberglass to expand, maybe bubble or expand if there was trapped air between layers of mat but not lengthwise no way not possible.

Aside from the science debate as far as brands go I personally like the customer service of ADV. I haven’t had experience with others but “John” has been good to me. I sent out a case of beer to them to thank them for answering all my questions. I basically took their +2 fenders and bedsides and cut them apart the day I got them to work for my application. So I had lots of structural questions for them. They picked up the phone anytime I called and eventually just started texting back and forth as it got better with my work schedule. Hands down have nothing bad to say about the company or their product.

so in summary I am PRO Advanced Fiberglass Concepts

Thank you! ADV are my favorite looking but this information helps. I spoke to my buddy who did all my body work on my Porsche and he said it could be 600-900 per fender depending on the condition of the glass. I know this is an offroad truck and will be beat up a good bit, but I also want it to look really nice when it's not.

id say that would be cheap labor if it includes install, fitting, prep and paint.

just remember though if you do the front you are going to likly kick yourself for not doing the bedsides... and those are A LOT more work.

After your input, my buddy spoke to ADV and is going down there to have them look at his fenders. I might go with him so I can see how that all goes down. I was trying to get Ken Blocks old ADV's but SVC is keeping them as souvenirs :)
