part number is 10740421R B try to find a buddy who can get a company discount or something since its a little pricey around $289 but with discount comes out to be right around $220 which i got mine... also i highly recommend getting one of the skid plates noted above for future adventures, if i had one prior to this problem it would have paid for itself lol

Another bent crossmember

I managed to bend my crossmember at the Tierra Del Sol event in Ocotillo Wells a few weeks ago and was hoping I might get some info from the people who replaced theirs.

1. Does anyone have the torque specs for all the bolts going into
the crossmember?

2. Also, is the transmission being held up by the crossmember? Do I need to
worry about supporting that before I swap it out?

And for anyone looking for a crossmember to purchase, here is a link to the part (Number 2). Out the door, including shipping, cost me $150.

Thanks!!

--> Update to my post: The link I provided is for the front crossmember and not the one holding up the transmission. Sorry for the mistake, I had to learn the hard way :(

Torque specs I'm not 100% sure on but I do know for a fact you need to support the tranny... And as always better safe than sorry... When I replaced mine it took us about 7 hours due to the trans mount being a bitch and swapping out the bent y pipe as well... But after all said and done, the truck was fixed and back on the road!

Thanks for the response Danactive.

Wow, 7 hours!?! Good job getting it fixed. Any advice you would give to someone who is going at it for the first time?

Make sure you have all tools necessary to install... Take your time with the trans mount as it's a bitch to get back in... Have at least one extra mechanically inclined person to help pass tools, hold up parts etc and most important ensure you have a jack holding up the tranny once your ready to remove the bar
