I wasn't concerned about the bedtred leading to rust - very little moisture gets in under my cover (from other gaps), and I applied a tailgate seal around the gate.

The bedtred is not like a plastic drop-in liner. It's soft on the underside and isn't going to scratch off the paint in the bed. Painted surfaces don't rust. Plastic drop-ins wear off paint and lead to rust from water trapped under them. Not so with bedtred.

The bedtred acts as a pad as well.

got it...thanks much

TruckCoversUSA is a good cover. Be sure to order the optional "keyless entry". The term is sort of misleading, the keyless entry is a pull strap that unlocks the lock automatically every 12 inches instead of having to turn the key every 12 inches. You should know that the cover has 4 drain tubes (2 in the front and 2 at the rear) instead of the typical 2. The cover comes with 4 rubber grommets for the holes so that it looks nice.

If you go with a spray-in bedliner, LINE-X is hard to beat. And, if you get a cover, standard black LINE-X is fine, you really won't need Premium (unless you want a color match.)
