Wouldn't be better to just rent or buy a small trailer than drilling and bolting your bed up, not to mention fighting to get a bike up and out of the bed?

Unfortunately not… it’s a bit more offroad than that… looking at carrying a rally bike with the extra fuel across a rally route back to the bivouac for a W2RC event.
