Well, since everyone is getting opinions & ideas, I thought I would get involved:

I'm building a rack for the bed to hold down all my gear. I've got several ammo boxes of various sizes, spare tire, jack/plate, gas cans.

I need a box to keep all the smaller gear in - 1st aid kit, tire repair kit, various flashlights, etc. I'm leaning towards building a steel box myself, but before I did, I wanted to get some other ideas.

Please give input with pictures. Thanks!!!

Update: I've got a backflip bed cover.

2014RubyRed,
Look up the eXpedition Ready Design (XRD), bed system,, (THANK YOU John Palmero). It utilizes dead space over the wheel wells and can be configured multiple ways. I have had one since 9/2014 and have used it on many occasions. I have the BAK Roll-X, (THANK YOU Morrie!), and everything fits easily underneath....

Have you looked at the BAKbox? Might be exactly what you're looking for...

No, but I think it sits flush with the bottom of the cover. @Labraptor can you confirm this? If not, I'm sure you could fashion a cargo cover over the top.

How big of a box are you looking for?

I guess pretty big. I want to keep oils, tools, liquids, ropes, tow straps, shackles, etc. in there. Gotta be pretty strong I guess.

I do like the way it sits up higher. More room for other stuff under it is always a good thing.
