I'm looking for a bed rack / chase rack that can accommodate a spare tire and a dirt bike. It would be ideal if it could include storage space for a tool box too. Any suggestions?

I use the Alpha 1 bed rack & haul my KTM to the track every week.

Installed a platform on the bottom of the side with no spare…that way the tire sits right and you can get the bike as far forward as possible.

The platform is made from 1/2 plywood….drilled holes in rack tube to mount it.

I use the bed extender w/ tailgate down and haven't had any issues…

Truck bed holds my bike & MX gear (ramp, stand, tool box, lawn chair, Yeti 20) w/ the rack loaded w/ one spare, 5 gal gas, small packer, floor jack….

I have been looking at the alpha 1 for awhile. I figured it was the best option and I really like the quick disconnect feature. I have 2 concerns though. Do you need to build a platform for the front tire, or will it work with out it. And do you think you could put 2 bikes if you had to?

Also, do you know of a pelican case that has the same specs as a action packer? I love action packers but they are real easy to break into.

You don't have to build a platform….but it sure makes it easier…I was using some 2x8 blocks to fill in the space…the platform is just a board cut to size, painted flat black & 4 holes drilled in it & the lower tubes…

My issue was trying to get the front tire as close to the front of the bed as possible so the bike will be stable, fit & be able to close the bed extender.

Without the platform or blocks to fill the space the front tire hits the lower front bar of the rack & you can't cinch the bike up against anything solid.

2 bikes no problem if you put your spare back under the bed….but no if the spare is in the rack.

Pelican case option…..sorry don't have any info on that.

PM me with your email & I'll send you a couple pics of how mine turned out.
