Well, I’m glad you asked. I’m happy to help and even provide you with part numbers for my specific setup, seeing as no one else wanted to reply to your specific questions.

The towers or legs mount to the bed cover. This bed cover is made specifically with built in channels to accept feet for cross bars or rack platforms. Mine is the Pace Edwards Ultragroove, but I know other companies like Roll N Lock make a version. Mine was by far the best looking and best priced for this specific purpose.

Pace Edwards Ultragroove Bed Cover (KRFA05A28) - $1,173.56 shipped by seller worldraceparts on eBay

Front Runner Slimline II Tray - 1475mm W x 1560mm L (RRSTM08) - $805

Front Runner Pick-Up Roll Top Leg Mount x2 Pairs (LASS028) - $157.90

Front Runner Leg Spacer 6mm x2 Pairs (LASS027) - $33.90

That what I plan on doing as well. Best set up IMO as you can remove it if needed to have full use of the bed. Saw a similar set up on this build on IG:

Same Front Runner rack but uses a retrax cover. Full build info here: https://www.instagram.com/asv_raptor/

Very well and absolutely.

Does the pace Edwards give you a water tight seal? The actual cover is aluminum right?

The only thing holding me back from pace Edwards rather then a retrax pro is how high it actually sits over the bed. I’ve yet to see one in person to check out

Mine was water tight and aluminum. It didn’t sit any higher than the Retrax. I’m very particular about the looks of a bed cover. I can’t stand when they sit high. Throws off the proportions of the truck.

Would this rack work with the Pace Edwards explorer rails as well?? I’m not sure there is too much difference but idk. Really like the set up as I’m looking at a RTT as well. But want to keeP it below roof line.

I’m sure it wouldn’t be a problem. The fitment of mine was really tight side to side, but you could always drill out the two holes (oblong) in each of the arms to account for differences in width.

Not sure I saw an answer about the Retrax Pro fitment.
I've been looking at several racks and waiting for LEITNER RACK DESIGNS to finally come up with their Retrax Pro fitting solution, but no answers yet.
If KB VOODOO has one, and can sit a little higher, I'm in.

All of our Max Modular racks work with Retrax covers.

We offer 10", 14", 18", and 22" high racks: https://www.max-modular.com/shop-max-modular

Our tonneau brackets add 2.5" to the height of each rack, so don't forget to factor that in when figuring the height that you want.

I’d like to find something that works well with a Diamondback SE or HD cover, while using a RTT. I’m thinking of redneck engineering a pivoting system that would let me open the back of the cover a few degrees. I’m going to be overlanding with this rig and taking some moderately challenging trails, so the dynamic load of any system is a concern.

All of our racks work Diamondback covers.
