GEN 2 Beadlock Beauty Ring Removal

Awaiting arrival of my truck, so I'm planning ahead here.

If I want to remove the beauty ring from the factory beadlocks, can the truck still be driven, or do they have an actual functional purpose like holding the bead in place?

I want to get them coated a different colour but don't want to be without wheels while they're getting done.

It's purely cosmetic. Remove, drive and re-instal.

Torx T45, I stripped one, drilled it out and had to extract the bolt. List price PER BOLT is $10.15 EACH.

Yeah they're just beauty rings. I just drove for 3 days without mine mine. Looks a little strange running without them but not bad.
