Does anyone know the correct battery size for our Gen 3 or has experimented with fitting something slightly larger in the space? I'm getting some new lights ordered up, and I just don't really trust this factory battery. I'd like to get an X2 Power (4-year warranty) or a yellow top or interstate. The X2 power from Batteries Plus Bulbs is a pretty heavy weight (more lead) and great warranty battery, but I'm thinking they don't make our size for the Gen 3. We ran the X2's on our jeeps and 4 years is worth the warranty. I think Interstate is a 3 year along with the yellow tops?

What type of power jump packs are you all running? I would always get the small $60 one at Costco but it would always stop working on me. I'd like to buy a good quality one once and have it for a long time if possible. I have high quality jumper cables but sometimes there always isn't another vehicle where I'm surfing.

DieHard Platinum AGM Battery: H7 Group Size
Would also suggest just adding an additional switchable battery.

The Yellow Top from Optima is only 72Ah and I would consider that to be the top of the line, correct? So the factory battery has a higher Ah rating then all the aftermarket brands? Or maybe this one is an incorrect size?

I'd like to bump this to the top. I found what I think is the stock battery on the Ford website.

It does list the stock battery at 80Ah. Can anyone confirm is this is actually correct? As stated above in my other post, I'm trying to figure out how all other top of the line batteries are much lower ampere hours than the stock battery. Please educate me on your battery purchase and if you can include part numbers, that would be great. Maybe I am picking the wrong battery size?

A lot of times, OEM is the best quality. Also, battery technology is not complicated—basically some acid and metal plates and the technology really has not changed in years. Don't you think that a company like Ford has access to the best and latest techniques on building or sourcing batteries? All the marketing from the aftermarket companies makes people think they need a "better" battery—you are still getting a bunch of acid and metal plates. You can only fit so much acid in a 12x8x8" block. Just stick with OEM.

Update on this thread. I was looking at the incorrect battery sizes. All the aftermarket batteries in the H7 group size area 80Ah. The X2 which I was looking at is 77.

Pretty sure the battery in my 22 is going bad, going to keep an eye on it but I’m only seeing 12.2 volts after it’s been fully charged. Might take it to dealer for warranty but was curious if this interstate battery would be the correct replacement. Maybe someone knows if it will fit? It’s H7 agm battery.
