Yeah as the title says, barring some BS that isn't expected, we will be picking up a 2020 on Saturday. We will then take it on a 1K-ish road trip to Texas. The truck is gonna get some PP when it gets home but looking for some temporary ideas in the interim.

I am not against getto fabbing it up in the interim as well. So looking for ideas, any and all are welcome.

Can you ask the dealer not to do any dealer prep and leave the plastic on the front end? I took mine home and did all the unwrapping. You could pick up clear film locally or on Amazon prime to just cut and apply to get the heads and other areas covered also.
Good luck!

Its been there for a little while. So they have already done some prep which kinda sucks but whatever. I probably will call some locals to see what I can rustle up. Thanks for the idea.

Masking tape and duct tape worked for me on a 320 mile trip home. If I were doing it again I would use the blue painters tape, the purple low residue stuff didn’t stick that well and I needed lots of Duct tape. The third pic is when I got home, with another half a roll of tape added.

With as far as you’re going, why not just pay for the clear bra before the trip?

Yessss! I remember seeing the I like Men post. We don't have the time and I have a guy in Houston that I trust to do a good job. So get the blue painters tape? Cool. I may do a hybrid of some PP film and this. May end up ghetto as F and end up on some forum somewhere but gotta do what I gotta do.

Thankfully it only a 12 hour drive so that's good.

I think the blue tape will hold up better with some duct tape reinforcement where necessary. Layer the tape overlapping it to keep the front edge covered by the next row down, start at the top and work down. The tape on the A pillars didn’t stick well enough and I had to ditch it after about 50 miles. The pockets formed next to the headlights were also a pain, they kept blowing out. Adding masking tape on the headlights and using duct tape in the corners helped.

If you’re willing to deal with the mess, straight duct tape would’ve stuck better. My buddy recommended clear packing tape. I used the delicate tape so I wouldn’t damage the hood decals.

I’ll second the Tracwrap 405 recommended. It work great for me when I took the Shelby on a long road trip that included some triple digit runs.
