Any flow test reports done on this bad boy ? I like how it looks. I have an SVC tune but back last year in december SVC told me the stock box with an k&N drop in was the best choice.

Any opinions on that ?

I know I'm reviving an old thread but I just installed it and at first I was not happy with the overall fit. Yes I followed the directions. I ended up tacking on a few little brackets on the bottom side of the inner mounting face. I had popped the hood twice after installing it and noticed the top of the filter box had slid inwards.

I ended up taking that inner piece off with the 2 prongs and tacked on a quarter of an inch onto the regular tab a right angle, slid it up while the rest of the housing was installed then screwed it down. Since then no movement. It sounds great, btw.

Another small little thing I'm fabbing up is a little brack to mount on the nut just the to the oustide of the box to display the supplied stickers. Yeah I'm a nerd.

Wondering if all y'all that got this Banks CAI if you could show/tell if this may have the ability to work with the larger 85mm throttle body without constriction? Is the neck down at the silicone TB boot so an 85 mm TB may fit with a larger silicone boot?

Thanks in advance....

Bought and installed this Banks CAI on my 6.2 L Screw. Got it fast here in CA, in 2 days. I too had great results with this CAI on my duramax diesel, so I gave Gale another try with the Raptor. Kinda bugs me but this is the second time the Banks ad pictures show raised white letters and it arrives with plain black letters :D ! I know, stupid gripe.

They do need to improve the mounting of this Banks lid to the OEM lower airbox. The Banks lid has metal tabs that slip under the right side like the stock lid did, but then the left side attachment does virtually nothing with a two prong metal bracket that also attaches sliding in from left to right. So there's zero force from the left side pushing right and the lid is loose. It seems so logical to use OEM clips somehow but engineering took the day off on that part! WTF Banks?! Now I've got to fab something like the last guy mentioned. I will bring it up with them directly too.

Now with the bitchin' aside, this CAI works great, and overcomes the factory intake tube's neck down into the air box. Starting at the throttle body/resonator the Banks tube gets wider and wider and the filter element has a HUGE unrestricted mouth. It's pretty easy to see how it improves flow compared to designs with a straight tube to a filter with a small opening.

Banks secondary forward facing ram air mouth makes up for the stock box's small single opening into the fender. The S&B intake looks better, IMO, with it's clear inspection window, and I think all intakes should have one, but this ram air design seems better.

I got the oiled K&N style element, because it's proven to trap particles better for the same flow. Also got the fine mesh pre-filter cover and it's a perfect fit. Yes I can hear more air flow, throttle response is snappy, and what's odd is that it feels like my EXHAUST got louder. My brain says it must be harmonics, but it could truly be more flow in means louder sounds out. Truck revs free like it should and is a blast, begging me to smash the go-pedal, let the trans kick down a gear or two and RIP :D  !! FYI, I'm running a 91 Octane Performance tune from 5 star and a Magnaflow muffler welded in place of the stock suitcase. Before the CAI the Magnaflow was the perfect increase in sound with no drone and zero rasp, but now it's a little nasty sounding, just sayin'... :p!

I have a whipple on my 2014 Raptor with an open pod filter (cai) and have been looking for an option, either fabricated airbox or something like this.
Would this restrict the airflow too much using this and a factory lower airbox again?
I understand I will still have to use the Whipple intake tube and MAF housing with some modifications required, but it seems this would be a good option otherwise.

Does the whipple intake tube go to a 'filter on a stick' K&N style filter in the factory airbox location? If you could post a pic, I'll do the same and you can compare?

What's your purpose for doing this Banks hybrid to Whipple sc? Is yours restrictive?

Alot of the places we go either have water or dust, so I was hoping this would still give me a pod style filter but restrict a bit of dust intake from below and minimise the risk of water flicked up from underneath.
Obviously I don't want to restrict the airflow and thought this may be an option for me, as the open pod at the bottom is not ideal for our situation.
