I have the Extang and love it. Strong cover, and has tight security.

It does not damage the bed rails but for proper installation, you should trim them where the mount hooks under the rail. The rear spring mount will probably be too difficult for the Mrs. to use. It is a strong spring.

I've checked out the bakflip, and it is just as good, I'd say go with the one you can get the best deal on. Good luck. Let us know what you decide.
If you have any specific questions, let me know.
And Whtrapta is selling his bakflip of you want a used one.

I am also in the market for a new tonneau cover and I think I'm going with either the Bakflip Fibermax or F1. I was told the F1 is the strongest and longest lasting folding cover they sell so it will be either of those. The fibermax is 3/8" thick aluminum, i think, with a 2 year warranty and 400 lbs max, and the F1 is 1/2" aluminum with 3 year warranty, and 500 lbs max rating. Thinking of getting the bakbox too!
I had the Extang soft folding cover on my Tundra and it was good, but wouldn't give me total use of bed space, plus would be easy to cut with knife if someone wanted to get in and steal anything. I suspect the F1 is much better at theft protection.

the bakflip is more secure than a soft cover, but it's still a piece of cake to get into for anybody who's seen one open. A coat hanger and bam it's open. Lift up the rubber seal on the tailgate, put a coat hanger in, hook the pull cord handles, and pop its open.

So, more secure in that anybody who walks up to a soft cover just needs a knife to open it, or just peel up a side of it, but they have to know a little about the cover to open a bakflip. But, I wouldn't consider it anywhere near as secure as in the truck or in a car trunk.
