I wound up going with the F1. I like the look of the VP, but amazon was having a sale on the F! and i got a 10% off coupon as well. Got the F1 for much less that I could have gotten the VP for. It showed up the other day. Big heavy box. Now just waiting for my truck.

I just purchased the BakFlip VP with bed rug. Any reason more of you are going with the F1?
Todd

I went with the VP and love it. Depends what you are using it for. Some guys want to sit on it so they get the one with a higher load rating

I'm sure they are both good but for me it was the F1 after a lot of research. Some have complained that the Roll-x is heavy. I was able to lift and install the F1 by my self, felt light.

My next mod will be a bakflip cover....just not sure which...anyone have any feedback or suggestions based on experience?

I have several write ups on the F-1 cover in my build thread. In a nut shell this is what I have learned. Use Red Locktite on the bolts, don't worry, you will be able to remove. Use a long bar clamp to hold the clamp in place as you torque down. The clamp should be positioned on the opposite side to keep the clamp from spinning off. tighten to the point where you see the aluminum clamp deform some.

If you go for the Bac-Box and go off road, you need to strap the box straight down to the bed. I used a Mac Tie Down for this. Without doing this it comes loose and cause significant damage to your bed etc.

The other issue I am now addressing is the flex that happens to the back of the bed during hard use. As the bedsides flex and deform over time a larger gap appears at the top. This gap can cause the F-1 locks to dis-engage - see post "Mystery of the disappearing cooler"

Solution will hopefully soon be posted to my thread with some bolt in (Triangular) cross bracing
