The quality is very good on both products.

I purchased an extra velcro kit for the Bedrug for more attachment points.
The tie downs I kept on the outside of the bedrug. I didn't want to cut slits in it. You can do it either way, I just opted for bolting them over the Bedrug. It turned out great.
I used heat shrink tubing to cover the zippers of the Bedrug to avoid any metal to metal contact/scraping on the bed. It worked, but I slipped some clear plastic tubing over it too.

This is the Bakflip F1.

I used plugs for the drain tubes rather than piping them through the plastic covers in the bed of the truck.

^^^

The set-up hasn't seen water yet.
I'm curious as to how much water will get into the rails and drain into the tubes when it does see water.
I'll be keeping a close on eye it though.

I have basically the same setup (BakFlip VP instead of F1) and I fed the tubes behind my BedRug and positioned them to drain in the small space that is already present in the truck bed so I didn't have to drill any holes. The BedRug holds the tubes in place nicely. It has seen plenty of rain (and power washes) and it is always dry as a bone.
