To get the best utilization, you want to use the lowest rated aux switch that is still greater than the amps drawn. For example, I plan to run the (2) S2s on AUX6 (5amps and they draw 3.32amps). Then run the (4) squadrons on AUX1 (15amps and they draw 13.32amps).

You don't want to waste a high rated AUX switch if you don't need it. It would be nice if you could just swap out the fuses for larger ones (like all 15s), but I don't know if all 6 circuits use the same awg wires and terminals. However, it seems like it would be easier from a manufacturing standpoint to do so.

Does anyone happen to know if we can just bump AUX3-6 to 15amps like AUX1-2?

On the gen 1 the switches were fused for the wire gauge, haven't looked at this one yet but would assume the same or the fuses would be all 15 amp from Ford.. So the short answer is no.

So it looks like folks need to find a way to plug the antenna with a cap, as the antenna (even a stubby) will no longer fit?

Would look nicer if the bracket was powder coated black. Good job and thanks for posting.

If you went with the smaller squadrons they wouldn't interfere with the antenna at all. I think if I used the outside mounting hole that you can see in the first pic my antenna would fit.

I'm going to see if I can move them over tomorrow.

I know that the Led lights are low amperage so is a relay required for these lights or are they designed to be hooked up directly to the aux switch?
Thanks,
Tone

Tone,

The lights can be hooked up directly to the upfitter switches as those switches do have built-in relays and fuses.

That being said, you need to be mindful of the amp capacity of your switches when wiring. Baja Designs has setup these kits to run 4 lights on one AUX switch and 2 lights on a second AUX switch. In addition to allowing you to use various lights for different situations, this also splits up the lights to keep them under the max amperage for each switch.

Hope this answers your question!

@Tonecapone - Nick is correct! These are designed to connect directly to the upfitter connection without any additional relays.
If you decided to add more lights or wire them to one switch, you will need the additional relay.
The Gen2 doesn't have as high of Amp ratings as the Gen1 so larger light bars will require either two switches or 1 switch and additional relay.

You can shift the light over and you can then screw the antenna back in.

Did the lights come with yellow lenses or did you tint them? If you did it how did you tint them?

Baja Designs sells the amber lenses, but you can also purchase an amber snap-on cover if you'd like.

I did not know you could get the lenses in yellow. I have yellow covers for my racers they are nice because you can take them off as conditions change. I got a few sets of clear also and put blue film on them for Snoball that worked well for snow dust.
