I’m toying with the idea of a 30” S8 bar behind my grille to go with my unlimited fog kit, but I’m baffled by all the lens options on the S8. What do people recommend? Mainly deserted country road use as I have a 30 mile commute to work every day for a 4:30am start, so there’s never any other traffic but LOTS of deer and critters...

John we can hook you up with that 30" Kit. We have 'em in stock.

The 30" Kit comes as it comes, no need to change the lenses (unless ya want). I find that either 100% Spots or the Driving/Combo is the best choice. The Driving/Combo (which is what comes in the kit) is usually a great choice since you get spots and wide cornering (thus "Driving/Combo").

I have this, like it a lot. This is high enough up to get good distance, and this light has a lot of throw, even through the grille.

Do it.

John, I ran this exact setup on our 2018 Raptor before we installed our ADD bumper.

We had the Unlimited Fog Pocket Kit and the 30" S8 behind the grille. We went with the standard Driving/Combo pattern that was offered.

The S8 got its name because it has 8 individual LEDs in each 10" section of the bar. When you choose the Driving/Combo pattern, you're getting 6 spot LEDs and 2 wide cornering LEDs per each 10" section. So 75% of the bar will be spot pattern with only a touch of it being wide.

Honestly, the amount of coverage vs distance was perfect. Due to the mounting height of the bar, the S8 projected further than our Unlimited Fog Pocket kit and was a great filler for those highway speeds.

We got our S8 back in 2017 before Baja Designs started utilizing the newer technology that nearly doubled the output of the previous bar. In my opinion, it's the perfect setup to go with the Unlimited Kit.

Here's a picture of our truck when it was at this stage:

Please let me know if you have any other questions about the setup. I'd be happy to discuss them with you.

Cool, thanks for the advice! Does the S8 interfere with the ability to do a fmic farther down the line? I don’t really have plans to get one, it’s just a thought [emoji2371]

If you're installing a relocated Intercooler (ADD, COBB, mountune, Full-Race, etc.) then yes, it will interfere. If you're doing a Mishimoto, Wagner, AMS Performance, aFe Power, etc intercooler that's in the stock location, then your 30" kit will be totally fine.

We can help you do both as well, just let me know :)
