I think I might have found the reason. In Dallas, I bet most of the time I am below 27MPH in pure darkness (neighborhood... etc)
Not sure why that is a reason not to activate the system....weird
I’m guessing that’s probably regulatory / DOT related - or maybe they just did testing that showed high beams aren’t going to make a drastic difference at low speeds to prevent an accident.

Automatic high beam systems typically turn on at speeds of around 25 miles per hour. However, the exact speed varies by manufacturer.
