Air compressors are not a sexy accessory—purely functional, but necessary if/when you want to fill big tires quickly, or run air tools in a pinch.
As an early anniversary gift, my wife bought me an ARB Twin High Performance 12v portable compressor (for our Raptor, other vehicles, and air tools in a pinch).
Experimented on our Jeep Rubicon which has BFG MT KM2s 35-12.50R 17s, by dropping from 35 psi to 15 psi—and reinflating. ARB rate of inflation was significantly/noticeably faster that I would have imagined, as if the compressor was filling a much smaller car tire. This is compared to the Slime Pro-Series Super Duty which I’d been using and functions well (in my experience the Slime works better than several other well regarded portable compressors I’ve owned previously).
I like that the ARB is portable vs. a hardwired compressor—which I’d considered. Of note, it is over engineered and quite robust/heavy. High quality fittings and every accessory for tires/air tools.
Due to my background, I gravitate toward overbuilt tools that function extremely well.
NOTE: Max, our rather large cat decided to show up and provides a frame of reference in size.
