Anyone with the Borla S-type Exhaust + Borla Resonator?

Has anyone done the Resonator on the S-Type yet?

Had S-Type on my 2017 but a bit to load for me. Was going to do Resonator on it but traded it in on 2018. Would like to have the Touring System but Borla only offer it through Ford. So I’m wondering if some had S-Type installed then added the resonator and could share if it made it quiter and less drone.

Dave, the exact purpose of the Resonator is to attenuate the sound and tone it down. The ATAK with resonator ends up with a volume somewhere in the range between the S-Type and ATAK, so you're on the right tracking with thinking that the S-Type with Resonator will give you that "touring" sound you're looking for.

We offer both the Ford Performance Touring exhaust as well as the Borla kits so please let me know if I can offer you additional pricing or information on either option!

do you think this setup is similar to the ford sport exhaust?

I would say that the ATAK with resonator puts the sound between the S-Type and the ATAK without the rasp. My understanding is that it'll be a little louder than the S-Type, but won't have the rasp. When we spoke to the Borla reps at SEMA they really focused on saying that it would "attenuate" the sound to take the edge off.

The S-Type and the Sport are around the same volume. The Sport being slightly less aggressive.

Another option for you may be the Corsa Sport Kit since the Corsa Sport system keeps the factory resonator in place, you don't get as much of the rasp as the Borla systems with their added X-Pipes.

hmmmm i might have to go with the atak plus the resonator, i think the main thing that kills me is the rasp. wish i could hear them in person and decide haha.

It’s a tough call, I understand. Unfortunately, we just don’t have many resonator sound clips to go off of.

just shot you a pm, i have heard the atak with resonator by someone on one of the fb groups and it sounds really mean without the crazy rasp.
