What size KERR do you use? I am thinking a Raptor is crowding a 7/8 rope. Probably need a 1 inch minimum. Bubba doesn't make a 1 inch do they?

I am torn on the same question. Bubba Rope is the clear leader in the field. But most expensive.

7/8 inch Bubba Rope rated for 28,600 pounds @ $209
1 1/4 inch Big Bubba Rope rated for 52,300 pounds @ $339

or

1 inch Numerous competitors rated for 30,000 - 32,000 pounds @ $150-200

I don't need 52,300 pound rope, but i think 28,600 may be too small. Are the competitors 1 inch ropes up to the same quality considering the cost difference?

From Bubba's website:

Which Bubba Rope do I need?
There is no official working load limit on using Power Stretch Recovery Ropes. However, from thousands of successful recoveries we recommend that the best method in selecting the right rope is by multiplying the weight of the stuck vehicle by 3.5 or 4 times and then selecting the rope that has a breaking strength that is equal to or higher than that number. For example: if you are going to be recovering vehicles similar in size to a Jeep which weighs approximately 4,000 to 5,000 lbs. our Renegade Bubba Rope with a breaking strength of 19,000 lbs. would be perfect for that application. Similarly, half-ton pickups that usually weigh around 6,000 lbs. the best fit would be our Original Bubba with a breaking strength of 28,600 lbs. If you still have questions of which rope to select just call or email us and we would be happy to recommend the best fit for your use.

Just a note...too big of a rope and you get less stretch which means less "snatching" power....

you could argue a fully loaded raptor would weigh in at 7,000+ pounds. Putting it right at the 4x threshold. Just wish it was a little more cut and dry.

That John Deere weighs more than 10000 lbs. So 3 or 4 times stuck vehicle? Don't think so

The Raptor has 2 loops at the back. I use 2 ( 1/2 inch} amsteel bridles about 10 feet long, and a 20 foot rope. Soft shackle attachment. Works good as you can get 10 20 30 or 40 feet on an easy pull. 30 feet on a hard pull. I am using a 7/8 bubba rope 20 feet long. As well I carry a 30 foot 1 inch super yanker for when things get ugly. Its fairly easy to work a loop into the amsteel
