Anyone see the Ford oil consumption warnings this week?

All owners of newer Ford vehicles: There seems to be a real oil consumption issue going on here. Three notifications this week already and it's only Tuesday... Ford Motor Company Ford Trucks

May 13 2019 8228 - 2017-2019 F-Super Duty, 2016-2019 F-650/F-750 - 6.7L - Chassis Cab/DRW Pickup Only - Oil Consumption - Extended Idle Vehicles

May 13 2019 8231 - 2018 F-150 - 5.0L - Excessive Oil Consumption See TSB: 19-2133 for details.

May 14 2019 8236 - 2017-2019 F-150, 2018-2019 Expedition/Navigator - 3.5L EcoBoost - Excessive Oil Consumption - Built On Or Before 1-Apr-2019
Some 2017-2019 F-150 and 2018-2019 Expedition/Navigator vehicles equipped with a 3.5L EcoBoost engine built on or before 1-Apr-2019 may exhibit excessive oil consumption with or without diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P0365 and/or P0369. If there are no visible external oil leaks, replace both valve covers.

Do any of those apply to the Raptor?

Our engines are HO EcoBoost 3.5L, correct?

interestingly enough I know 3 brothers that are in a pavement marking business and live in my town. all three traded 2 years ago their 14 Raptors and bought 3 2017 trucks....they do idle a lot for work and indeed are down to 3k mile oil change intervals due to the above mentioned oil consumption that Ford said was normal last year.....they were told the turbos would be the main cause.

How can it be just some? If they need v covers, they all should

Manufacturing variation, install variation, etc. My truck hasn't used a drop of oil in its 26k mile, but you don't have to go far in this forum to see some who have lost oil pretty quickly.

Same reason some have cam phaser problems and other don't.

Sounds like there may be different versions of the valve covers, or maybe a supplier problem with some batch? If it includes all those made before 1 April 2019, it would seem to be wide spread.

The only way I know of (for now!) that a valve cover can cause oil consumption, other than simply leaking oil externally, is when the air-oil-separator function of the crankcase vent-to-PCV is not working or poorly designed and the crankcase pressure carries oil right into the intake manifold through the PCV hose. It should smoke some(?) and show up on the spark plugs too.
