any chance the R7 will work with my existing R3 blendmount and mirrortap wire?
The connection is different, different plug for R3 than 7. I just got mine in the mail from blendmount. One is like a mini plug, the other is the square plastic phone type connector.

Another one here with a R7, no issues thus far everything is working well, I was able to grab the update and have a copy if you would like MDJAK.

agree with everyone here. these are all tools and using all you have available only makes sense. A truly hardcore police officer will get ya, well hidden and instant on. If they get me I would tell them " well played sir, you were nicely camo'ed!" most of the time I find that most cops, like most people go for the easy hit, so radar on looking for the most offensive or easy fish.
Thank you. I was finally able to download it and figure it out.

Still once in a while getting false falsing if you get my drift, meaning the detector shows a warning when there is nothing anywhere to set it off. Oh, well.

You have to realize about the R series of detectors from Uniden that they are awesomely sensitive. Meaning you will pick stuff up way ahead of any other detector. Just saying...

And if you've never had a detector with front and rear protection it's going to seem more chatty, because it's picking up from both directions.

Just ensure you have it set up correctly for your area. Don't be afraid to play around with the settings. You can really dial it in!
