What would the advantage of spring under be? Just less axle wrap?
It would seem you would need 4-5" lift springs to make up for the lost height. More arched springs would = rougher ride. U-bolts and plates dragging on rocks.
Unless I'm thinking about it wrong, wouldn't you need springs with a total "lift" of the diameter of the axle tube PLUS the height of the spring pack itself just to get back to stock height? I just went out and measured that on my truck, and that would be about 7".It would seem you would need 4-5" lift springs to make up for the lost height.
