Anyone painted or refinished their hood vents or front grille?

I’d shop around for a better price. I have a local custom shop I take all our vehicle to. In November I had my headlights refinished, bumpers, sidesteps & hood vents painted, hood & fender flares rhino-lined for $1100 out the door. Helps that I buy the guys in the shop a case of beer each time they do work for us.

Just curious if anyone has done this. I was thinking of painting the hood vents with something more of a matte black to match the hood graphic. The grille is also faded a small bit, but I'm wondering if anyone has found a dark gray to match the factory color. I'd like to leave it gray instead of black.

Painted hood vents and front side fender plastic to body match. Low maintenance painted. Really like the look and convenience when washing. 3611A862-4060-40A5-A4F7-61771C4F5D70.jpeg

I repainted my hood vents when I did the wrap. Need to make time a do the grill

I used SEM trim black. It was something I learned about from one of the best auto paint places in the country when they did my race car years ago. It’s a “spay paint” but a much better quality. I just hit them with a scotch brite pad a then wiped them clean. Shot one coat. Then about 15-20 min later another. Wait another 30 ish. Reinstall

it’s a satin/flat black and looks just awesome

Got any pics? Which one did you go with? They have a few different ones. I'm thinking the SEM trim black ultra in satin? They also have it in matte?

To be honest I’m not sure which one it was. Don’t have a direct pic of them when it was done. But this was soon after and you can see the hood vent.
