I want to make my own exhaust but do not want to deal with long tube headers( I know long tubes make more power so they say). I have been searching for a company that makes them but no luck. Anyone know where I can get them?

Thanks:Jedi:

I am planning to make my own exhaust from headers back I am going to be eliminating all cats and make a dual exhaust using the dual tip setup and x pipe.(all stainless) I will swap it out when I have to do smog, which is the main reason I want shortys. If I have shorty I can reuse my existing cats and swap out easily as I please, cant do that with long tube headers. If there is anyone that wants to sell their stock exhaust for crewcab raptor cheap let me know. Thanks

This is not a criticism of the OP. It is a question to clarify my understanding of exhaust terminology.

If you have a "true" dual exhaust doesn't that mean that the exhaust from the driver's side never mixes with the exhaust from the passenger's side. But once you add an X-pipe or H-pipe you are mixing the sides of the exhaust, hence it is no longer "true" dual exhaust.

You are correct Deinonychus, I love how an xpipe works on my 4 valve 03 cobra 4.6 s/c, so I am confident it will be great on a 6.2 beast.

Kinda depends on who you ask really

You could always get the header from stainless works, and then get a catted x-pipe, and offroad x-pipe. Then simply swap out those x-pipes when the time comes.

Back in the day, I would put a cross-over between the two. Seemed smooth things out on the big block chevy's.

Im good, I dont like to order everything off a catalog and bolt on. Im the guy who puts my name on what I make. Not the guy that just puts a bolt on sticker logo on the back window. Not trying to say that bolt on stuff sucks, I just love building my shit. People appreciate fabricators and there great work
