i havent really been doing much off roading. i went out in a field behind my house when i first got the truck. ive hit a few little mud holes here and there but nothing special. ive been wanting to take a trip to the OBX and drive out on the beaches there once the weather warms up. and from the looks of it, summer isnt too far away. supposed to be 85 today! wheres the croatan forrest at? is it any good there?

I hate the Croatan...but my experience was probably very different than most. I normally dip off into Holly Shelter, but you hafta keep it under control on the graded roads. Ppl throw fits if you don't. There's also a jump that I've hit at about 70 and there's a few trails/roads w stretches that give ya room to push the truck. Nothing rough, just open. On top of those, there's a wide sand wash w fairly shallow sand but there's room to tool around. If you like mud, there's plenty of that, you just hafta look. Not for me, too much clean up involved.

The Croatan starts in New Bern NC and goes all the way to the coast to emerald isle. Crashmc302 is correct it is a lot of mud but fun none the less. You do have to be careful at high speeds on the dirt roads because a lot of people have been killed driving like idiots. But on another note there are trails and some lakes to visit including the Great Lake. We went camping and off roading in there about three weeks ago and it was a great trip and it is close by. I usually start at the Croatan in New Bern and work my way down toward Emerald Isle where the sand pit is that Crashmc302 was describing. There is a lot to see and you can also take your guns and target shoot etc... Have never seen any park rangers or law enforcement except when a Marine got lost this winter on a hunting trip. Anyway try it out. What we need to do is get some Raptors together here in NC maybe go to OBX or something... Hope this helps

Whats up everyone. Got my raptor back in feb of last year. Im in the military stationed in Goldsboro NC so you can usually find me around there. I tend to take a lot of trips back home to the eastern shore of MD, which is where the truck is at now since im deployed. Looking forward to catching up on the forum and seeing the great advice and ideas everyone has to offer.

I live on the Eastern Shore in Easton. Got my truck in February of this year.

Hello Steve-O, I am from Greenville NC where are you going off roading? Got my truck back in December and have been visiting the Croatan Forrest, just to name a few.

My son lives in Greenville, NC.

Do you have a silver screw and happen to drive down Stevens mill road every now and then?
